Wilder (my 2 year old son) has recently become afraid of the dark. Nothing major but he hesitates to go near it alone.
The other night, he ran into the kitchen and grabbed a metal strainer with a handle that sort of looked like a net and he turned to me and @wildnaenae and he said, “mamas, c’mon! Let’s catch the dark!” And off he went toward our bedroom where the lights were off.
At first he was nervous, but then we walked in with him and “caught the dark” in his net. And the dark stopped feeling so scary, for me, and for him, and for all of us.
Here’s to catching the dark, holding it long enough to know it, and then letting it go so the light can come in. 💡
