January 2020: DeafLEAD
Do you remember the first time you heard the words "I love you"? I don't... but what I will never forget is the first time I felt "I love you." It felt like someone had wrapped me in a warm hug, it felt like belonging, it felt like I was finally safe from so many things I feared. Love has this amazing way of making us feel like we're in the right place at the right time with the right humans, and that's really special.
Love lives inside all of us. It's a universal language we all know and desire - no words needed. It's the very base of all that is good. It doesn't care what language you communicate with, what your story is, what you look like, or where you're from - love's got you.
In a world filled with so much hate, love can bring us together without a single word needing to be said out loud.
A hug means I love you. A warm meal means I love you. A kind smile means I love you. A kiss means I love you. A friendly wave means I love you.
Sometimes love is simply letting another human know that you see them and accept them in all of their seasons of life. Especially the hard ones. If there's one thing we know for sure it's that love exists in me, in you, and in all of us. We dare you to spread your love into this world and see the good that comes out of it. Make that a double dog dare.
Endless love from all of us to all of you.
