What do the words "only human" mean to you?

When you sit and think about your childhood now as an adult and the things you would have changed if you could.  Only Human to me means we are all Gods children.  We are all equal in His eyes and that is what I have learned growing up.  Only Human means being you and doing you.  I don’t want to live in judgement and I don’t believe in judging others either.  Living your best life as long as you do nothing to intentionally hurt anyone else in the process.  It’s the little things you can do to help others on their journey.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about our short sweet life we were blessed to have.  I have grown and learned a lot already and am excited to keep learning.  I love being able to help others.  My passion comes in helping, no matter how big or little.  I am passionate about the blue skies that give us light to be adventurous.  I am passionate about spreading the word of Breast Cancer for women all over who may not understand why it is happening to them.  My passion for life itself is what motivates and keeps me going.

What makes you the happiest?

Seeing others smile completes me.  My world is made up of all of the happiness I can help create in peoples hearts, even if only for a moment in time.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year at the age of 31.  I went through months of treatments and surgeries to be where I am now.  Hearing those words, “I am sorry, you have breast cancer” immediately changed everything for me.  I had to decide if I wanted to look back in 20 years and know I did everything I could to keep myself on top of this or if I was going to look back an see that I missed life because of it.  Cancer didn’t have me, I had it and I battled hard and kept on living my life each day as if it was my last day.  People still don’t know how I was so upbeat and positive while battling it.  I told them, “I only get one life to live, if done right, that is all I needed” and I wasn’t going to let cancer stop me.

How do you keep yourself positively inspired during overwhelming times?

I have to always find a positive in every negative.  I am always the rock for everyone and that is all I know how to be.  Even in overwhelming times, there is someone out there that could be much worse that me and I focus on that to remember how good God is and that I can make it through anything.  I like to think I can inspire others to stay positive in overwhelming times as well if they see me.

If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be? Why?

My mom works for a non profit organization in the legal field.  I hear her on the phone with clients and how she handles them melts my heart.  She is the most selfless woman I have ever met and spending a day through her eyes would be amazing to me.  The lives she has touched goes beyond her daily duties as a legal professional.  She is a Godly woman and holds strong to her faith but does not judge anyone if they don’t share the same beliefs.  She is my hero and I am proud to learn and do good works like she has.  I have learned so much from her growing up and always watching to make sure I don’t miss a thing.

What’s your favorite quote?

I have so many but “Do not judge me because I sin differently than you.” “What nourishes me also destroys me.”

What would be your advice to a human who just graduated from high school and was about to enter the "real world"?

Live each day like its your last.  Take chances now and be adventurous.  Don’t rack up credit card debt.  Keep your slate clean and be kind to everyone, you definitely do not know their struggle.
