Growing up, I was average. I didn’t play sports. I wasn’t involved in anything and I didn’t know where I would go in life. I always said “I’ll never be in healthcare, it’s too hard”. Long story short, I fell into being a nurse. I got into a car accident in high school and I had to get a job to pay for everything. A guidance counselor suggested a job at the hospital that was available. I got the job at 17! One day I had to go to the ER to pick up X-Ray films and I fell in love. I ended up working in the ER because I liked it so much. It took me six years to get into nursing school. It was expensive and not easy. Fast forward 19 years, I still work in the ER! I am happy to say I have been an RN for 12 years now! It also led me to meeting my beautiful partner, Chelsea!
