What do the words “only human” mean to you?
To me it means exactly what it says, you’re only human. You’ll make mistakes over and over again. You’ll feel vulnerable and weak. But note that by the end of the day, you are not weak. You are strong and an amazing person!
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about life in general: me being alive, my dog (Finn), family, friends. Just anything in life honestly.
What makes you the happiest?
There are endless things that make me happy…Love, life, my dog, spending time with people, going out and exploring the world, traveling, and beaches.
In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?
I’ve learned to be more myself in these last past 5 years. It took a lot for me to get where I am today and I love everything about who I’ve become. I learned to not take things so serious all the time and to just let things go and enjoy life, enjoy being alive.
How do you keep yourself positively inspired during overwhelming times?
I am a very positive person, so when I do get in overwhelming situations I tell myself that everything will be okay. That things happen for a reason even though we may not know why, but I keep my head up. I keep pushing to be better. I tell myself I’m still here. I’m still breathing. I’m still alive. I get to see my nieces and nephews and family and friends another day. I get to enjoy life another day, so I tell myself don’t let things get to me as much just breathe, take a step back and everything will be okay.
If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be? Why?
It would have to be my dad, because I looked up to him ever since I was little. My parents divorced when I was very young and my mom at the time back then drank daily. She was an alcoholic (she is sober now ), but I was always with him. He became my best friend. He does a lot for others and doesn’t ask for anything in return. He has such a big heart and he is an amazing human being. When I came out he was so supportive of me, and also not shocked at all . But no matter what I was going through, he was there for me thick and thin. He isn’t just my dad. He is my hero, my best friend. I could keep on bragging about him, but yes most definitely my dad!
What book (or books) have greatly influenced your life?
I honestly do not read books. It is actually very hard for me to pronounce words and understand them. But if someone reads it to me or if it’s an audio then maybe.
What’s your favorite quote?
I have a couple of them, the one I use on a daily is: IT IS WHAT IT IS and my other is F*** IT.
What is your most-used emoji?
What would be your advice to a human who just graduated from high school and was about to enter the “real world”?
I would tell them how proud I am of them to making that step and graduating. I would tell them to live their life just the way that they want to. Don’t let other people discourage you or tell you what to do in life. Make your own choices. Make those mistakes, travel as much as you can when you can. Don’t hold back on anything, love who you want to and don’t settle for less. You deserve the world so go and get it!
