Here’s a little about Riss.

Name: Marissa Donnell
Pronouns: She

What do the words “only human” mean to you?

When I hear the words only human, I think of how no one is perfect. I think about how we are all flawed, but so beautiful and so little people actually stop to realize that.  The world constantly picks apart the little things wrong with us, but never actually stop to admire the beauty in our uniqueness and differences. We are all constantly trying to grow and better ourselves as humans, but at the end of the day, we are only human.

What are you passionate about?

I’d say the one thing I am most passionate about is leaving my mark on this world as well as teaching my children to do the same. I want to leave a positive impact in certain subjects I am passionate about. I feel as though I am the black sheep in this world, and I constantly want other people to know what I am educating myself on and do better in their lives and better themselves. I am also passionate about being me. I have never apologized for who I am and I never will.

What makes you the happiest?

Theres a lot of things that make me happy but I’d say the thing that makes me the happiest is that I have finally accepted myself for who I am. I have always been outspoken, opinionated, loud, brave, and extremely honest. But, I have finally brought to the surface the hole that has been there for so many years and I met a girl who filled that. I have never been happier.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

Manifestation. 2.5 years ago, I was in debt up to my eyeballs. I was in a negative mindset constantly and I was living an extremely unhealthy lifestyle. I read the book “The Secret” and started manifesting things in my life and immediately turned everything around. In 4 months, I paid off over $30K in debt. In 9 months I bought my dream house, and over the course of a year, I completely changed my eating habits around as well as swapped out every toxic product in my house for a more natural alternative. The mind is a powerful thing and if you use it right it can really impact your life in a positive way.

How do you keep yourself positively inspired during overwhelming times?

Daily affirmations, manifesting, working out, eating healthy, chakras/crystals, essential oils, and baths. I do a lot of things for myself, so I don’t get overwhelmed with life. Always take care of you so you can take care of the people around you. I talk to people who inspire me instead of people who bring me down. I rid my life of toxic people.

If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be? Why?

I would spend a day in someone less fortunate than me’s shoes. I would want to change their mindset for a day and show them that they CAN change their life around.

What book (or books) have greatly influenced your life?

The Secret

Girl Wash Your Face

What’s your favorite quote?

Expose yourself to your deepest fear; after that, fear has no power, and the fear of freedom shrinks and vanishes. You are free.

What is your most-used emoji?

The crying laughing one.

What would be your advice to a human who just graduated from high school and was about to enter the “real world”?

My advice would be to stop caring what other people think and to ALWAYS follow your gut/heart. Life is too short to go through it trying to be somebody you’re not just to please other people.
