Never Alone: A Voice For Neglected Children

Never Alone: A Voice For Neglected Children

Over 400,000 children a year are in the foster care system for one reason or another, usually because their family is going through some sort of crisis or is unable to take care of them. Sometimes the kids are removed because of situations filled with trauma, neglect, and abuse.

Scared and alone, these kids embark on a unknown journey of trying to make it to adulthood through the foster care system — a system most adults can hardly figure out how to navigate.

All they need is just that one human that will be there for them through thick and thin no matter what while they go through one of the most impactful experiences of their life.

I remember what it feels like to be alone. I’ve known what it feels like to be abandoned.

I spent my childhood surviving only because of the kindness of strangers who were there for me when my family couldn’t be. I never ended up in foster care, but I know what’s it felt to be alone as a kid and  it hurts to know every night when I got to bed there’s a kid out there thinking no one gives a damn about them.

It takes a village. Guess what?  We’re that village and we’re asking you to step up and to be the voice for abused and neglected kids who are longing for someone like you.

Will you be there? Let’s come together to let kids in the foster system and really anyone who feels like they could use some support know that they are never (ever) alone.
