I had Pride even before I came out 🏳️‍🌈

Pride is a celebration of love and individuality and it doesn’t just apply to those who are out of the closet 👏🏻

When I was in the closet, Pride felt so inaccessible to me. I was still figuring out who I was and what that meant for me. Pride was such a loud and proud celebration that I just wasn’t fully ready for. AND THATS OKAY👏🏻🏳️‍🌈 So I found other ways to celebrate my pride.

Here’s how I celebrated my pride 👇🏻

🏳️‍🌈 Listen to music by LGBTQ+ artists- I dove deep into music by queer artists and for the first time was hearing songs that I could connect with and relate to.

🏳️‍🌈 Support LGBTQ+ owned businesses- they are out there and they need our love and support.

🏳️‍🌈 Learn about other identities under our rainbow umbrella- learning about identities other than my own helped me find a sense of belonging in our community and an appreciation for just how different and amazing we all are.

🏳️‍🌈 Consume queer media- there are so many amazing shows, YouTube channels, web series, Instagram accounts, etc. that feature queer individuals. Watching them made me feel so proud of myself and offered me a glimpse into what my future could hold.

🏳️‍🌈 Connect with your online community- tumblr, Instagram, and YouTube were some of my first connections to the LGBTQ+ community before I came out. I felt like I found a space that finally understood me.

What are some ways that you like to celebrate Pride? 🏳️‍🌈✨
