What do the words "only human" mean to you?

Only human to me means be inclusive and accepting of the fact the we are flawed individuals. However, our flaws are what make us perfectly imperfect.

What are you passionate about?

Life! Growing up it was always school, sports, horses and doing it all but we do eventually hit the phase we’re all warned about as kids. When we finally realize that the age we thought was old is really just the beginning in actuality, when those straight A’s we got in school really don’t matter because our talent and work ethics speak for themselves, when we wish we would’ve stayed out with friends longer because now our responsibilities wear us out beyond exhaustion most days. Life is really what life is about and it’s what makes me get out of bed in the morning.

What makes you the happiest?

Making those important to me happy and seeing them succeed. Not in the bad, all consuming way of putting others first, but in the way that it does truly make me happiest when I see the people most important to me succeeding and being happy. It’s what everyone wants, right? I think those in my life deserve to be happy and even though I believe one has to be happy with themselves before they can be happy with someone else in any relationship, I also believe it’s okay to be happy for people.

In the last five years, what new belief, behavior, or habit has most improved your life?

Life really truly is short and keeping yourself busy and on the move all the time to avoid facing yourself and your own truths is just a recipe for depression. I have started to remind myself that someday is one of the most powerful words. It’s easily used to put off things we want to do and sometimes that someday never gets a chance. I waited too long for my someday and I can’t ever get that back so from now on, someday does not exist in my vocabulary.

How do you keep yourself positively inspired during overwhelming times?

It’s tough but I look for the brightness in everyone around me. Even today with social media, it can destroy relationships and eat at our self confidence but it can also be a huge lifter as well. Look at all of the positive people that are out there who have worse stories and lived through stronger storms and think about the fact that if they can still smile and empower others, why can’t I?

If you could spend a day in someone else’s shoes, whose would they be? Why?

This is a tough one. I would love to be accomplished and say someone brilliant, famous, someone who truly accomplished great things for our country and our communities but selfishly, I would want to spend a day in someone’s shoes close to me. Understanding what they go through on a daily basis and how they see the world would be a humbling experience I believe.

What book (or books) have greatly influenced your life?

I’m a reader so most anything I pick up has some impact on my life. I think the most eye opening book that I have read and re-read as a teen and adult is “A million little pieces” by James Frey.

What’s your favorite quote?

Plain and simple…. Love is Love. I have a collection of quotes that I’ve loved and looked to for inspiration but it really does come down to that plain and simple.

What is your most-used emoji?

🤣

What would be your advice to a human who just graduated from high school and was about to enter the "real world"?

Don’t forget to live! Travel while you’re young and can flirt shamelessly, climb to the top of the mountain to see the breathtaking views, jobs and money will always come but life won’t always be there.
